VON THRONSTAHL
E Pluribus Unum
LABEL - Cold Spring
FORMAT - CD
GENRE - (NEOFOLK/NEO-CLASSICAL)
The granitic neoclassical German line up of Josef K. and Raymond P. shoots his second ear, shining of epic bright and of burning, evocative spirit. With "E pluribus Unum" is sanctioned undisputed solemnity expressed by Von Thronstahl's music and by their feeling with the Old Continent's culture. This Cd includes new releases and besides gets together tracks previously published in rare editions, past compilations, or different versions; 14 memorable performances in all.
Wagnerian twilight symphonies ascend through holy ruins as for example in "Mitternachtsberg", "Inthronisation", "Fahnentrager", caressed by icy winds produced by arks strings, decadent keyboards, distant bells aulic horns. Elaborated musical buildings, rich of particulars stand out in every way gone, unforeseeable assaults and continuous flashback satisfy bearing columns. Vocal parts under various stylistic aspects, narrative voice, prophetic voice, angry and affected voice, legendary and epic chorus, appropriated solutions of great emotional impact, under protective sword of archangel Michael.
Marching and apocalyptic percussions maintain a burning alert's status; rhythms are often supported by more distorted and deflagrated beatings (e.g. "Vereinsamt", "Das Neue reich") exalting ovations and Deep Air of a way hesitations-less. Tracks, rich of intensity and bright, revealed strength drawn up in line of out-of-focus imagines, opened on infinite impetus and on patience and ordinate spiritual will.
Timeless murmurings and cracklings go through tortured, painful and contaminated landscapes, but never won, sure of their own fanfares throwing away, of their own holy vexilla greatness, their own earth's scent. The advent of a new album as a prophecy for a new and unforgettable Empire.
